Abstract

This speech was given by Olivier Guersent to the Regional Studies Association conference on EU Regional Policy: Progress, Problems and Prospects at Aix-en-Provence in September 2000. M. Guersent is a member of the cabinet of EU Commissioner Michel Barnier in the Directorate General for Regional Policy and, in his speech, he reviewed the current state and future development of regional policies in the European Union.
