Properties and applications of two-tailed quasi-Lindley distribution

Abstract

Here we consider two-parameter and three-parameter versions of the two-tailed quasi-Lindley distribution and investigate their important properties. An attempt has been made to estimate its parameters by the method of maximum likelihood, along with a brief discussion on the existence of the estimators. Further, the distribution is fitted to certain real-life data sets to illustrate the utility of the proposed models. A simulation study is carried out to assess the performance of likelihood estimators of the parameters of the distribution.
