Abstract

This paper undertakes a rigorous examination of the convergence patterns of labour productivity at the regional and sectoral levels across Czech regions. In addition to conventional tests for β- and σ-convergence, we apply approach so as to model non-linearly and to allow for the various heterogeneity and transitional dynamics across regions. Our results reveal no evidence of convergence across the Czech Republic; rather, we discover widespread evidence of divergence supporting the existence of convergence clubs across regions.
