Abstract

Zusammenfassung Am 5. Juni 2019 veranstaltete der Finanzausschuss des Deutschen Bundestags eine öffentliche Anhörung zu zwei Anträgen der Fraktionen der FDP und der AfD zum Thema „Target“. Die Anträge betonen die Risiken der Target-Salden für die Bundesbank und untermalen die betriebswirtschaftliche Argumentation mit Warnungen vor einer „Selbstbedienung“ anderer Länder „mit der Notenpresse“ und einem Abfluss von Ressourcen aus Deutschland ohne Gegenleistung. Die Stellungnahme der Autoren gegenüber dem Finanzausschuss kritisiert viele Behauptungen der Anträge zur volkswirtschaftlichen Einordnung der Target-Salden als sachlich falsch.
