Abstract

— The article analyzes the key interactions between household consumption, dynamic and structural characteristics of economic development in 2011–2020. Based on the analysis of input–output tables, the contribution of population demand to the formation of production and imports is considered. The stability of structural characteristics during the period under review is demonstrated, regardless of the shocks observed in the economy. The weak influence of population demand on the production of high-tech goods and services is shown, which is explained by the unfavorable consumption structure. The impact of household consumption on production indicators is assessed taking into account the existing system of inter-industry interactions. Calculations demonstrate a gradual increase in the influence of population expenditures on the development of human capital. A steady downward trend in the share of labor compensation in gross output and value added in 2011–2020 is stated. This is one of the indicators of increasing the efficiency of the use of labor resources in the Russian economy. The change in the share of wages in the structure of gross output by type of economic activity is considered. It is stated that there are sectors of the economy with significant reserves for increasing wages.
