Abstract

Zusammenfassung Pensionszusagen werden in der derzeitigen öffentlichen Wahrnehmung primär als risikobehaftete Belastungen der Unternehmen wahrgenommen. Im Rahmen dieses Beitrags wird zunächst aufgezeigt, dass es sich bei Pensionszusagen um ein für viele Unternehmen wichtiges personalwirtschaftliches Instrument im Rahmen des Vergütungssystems von Unternehmen handelt. Anschließend werden wesentliche Herausforderungen, denen sich die Unternehmen im Zusammenhang mit Pensionszusagen stellen müssen, diskutiert. Diese Herausforderungen beziehen sich auf demographische und wirtschaftliche Entwicklungen, die Finanzierung von Pensionszusagen sowie die Bilanzierung und Kommunikation im Zusammenhang mit Pensionen.
