Abstract

Satellite based remote sensing technique is used in this short communication to analyze the flood events of Tamil Nadu (TN) during November–December 2015. It is reported that few districts of TN received continuous multiday intense rainfall (in the range of 200–340 mm/day) during second week of November and first week of December. Results reveal that intense and long rainy spells during second, last week of November and first week of December resulted in heavy flooding over TN.
