Abstract

Entrepreneurial ecosystem presents a systematic approach towards increasing the entrepreneurial capability of the region. The studies on the entrepreneurial ecosystem have focused on identifying the main components of the ecosystem and examined cases of the entrepreneurial ecosystem to understand its dynamics and functioning. However, there is a lack of a framework that would act as a blueprint towards establishing the ecosystem. This has led to an underdeveloped understanding of establishing and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This article addresses this gap and provides the framework for developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem through a combination of bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review. The study used bibliometric techniques like citation analysis, co-citation analysis, co-authorship analysis and co-occurrence analysis to analyse the existing literature on the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Systematic literature review method was used to identify the domains of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, namely, evolution, economic geographic clusters, entrepreneurial climate, and influence on sustainability and measurement of EE. Considering these identified domains, we developed a conceptual entrepreneurial ecosystem framework. The study also posits future research directions to consolidate the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
