Abstract

This book is intended to address major energy transitions toward renewable energy and energy conservation via stakeholder and affected public support for mobilization. As David Orr aptly states we need to address “national energy concerns, which risks we as a society accept, which we avoid, who decides and by what process (Orr 1979, 1027).” The book has two parts. Part one provides a conceptual approach to stakeholder and citizen involvement toward a transitional process. Part two contains empirical case studies for participation and involvement for energy polity transition—primarily focused on Germany’s “Energiewende” (new energy transition policy).
