Abstract

Environmental concerns due to rising pollution has attracted supply chain practitioner to modify procurement of raw material, manufacturing and distribution processes. Use of environmental friendly raw materials, processes, packaging, scientific disposal of life expired goods are some of the important ingredients of green supply chain management. This paper is highlighting green enablers of supply chain such as waste disposal, reverse logistics, customer awareness, use of clean technology etc. to realise its applicability in the industries. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been used to model hierarchical order of enablers in manufacturing sectors. It has been found that Chemical industries are more conscious and modification of manufacturing processes needs more attention to realise green supply chain management in business. This study will help to make the complete business process environmentally conscious.
