Abstract

The aim of this article is to initiate discussions on the definition and measurement of e-government. The development of information technologies continues to accelerate. ICT has an increasing impact on our reality, including e-government. The practice of e-government is changing as dynamically as the rest of the socio-economic environment. The UN, the World Bank and the European Union – the key institutions in this area – define and measure e-government in a traditional way. There is a clear gap between the theory and practice of ICT application in the area of administration.
