Abstract

The fast development of information and communications technologies as well as the growing computerization of the society and economy force public institutions to adapt to the changing realities. Analysing the data of the Central Statistical Office (GUS) allows finding Poland’s place in the EU as regards implementing IT solutions and e-administration development. The authors present the innovations in the domain of online public services implemented so far, as well as indicate the areas which still need the improvement in the efficiency of operations and the quality of the services rendered. The article discusses the main assumptions of the state computerization strategy under the Ministry of Digitalization’s project for 2016–2020 and how the society and economy can benefit from implementing the said project.
