Abstract

This article sets out to present the research results on the flow of information in 55 clusters operating in Poland. A cluster is defined as a network organisation consisting of three types of economic entities: an enterprise, a research and development unit/university, and the local government, which start to cooperate with the purpose of achieving economic benefits. A cluster’s aim is to strengthen cooperation between business, academia and the local government as well as to develop local business entrepreneurship. In conclusion, it may be stated that the closed model constitutes the dominant model of information flow in the clusters operating in Poland. It follows from the parameters such as: the direction and level of information flow formalisation, the coordinator’s role, the participants’ role, and the character of information flow. Moreover, it seems that in the future the model of information flow will be open.
