Empirische Wirtschaftsforschung im Spannungsfeld zwischen Theorie und Politik

Abstract

Different contributions deplore that often is observed that in economic politics experts' knowledge is not being considered during the decision preparing process. A possible reason could be the insufficient empirical foundations of many models in economic theory. An approach in order to improve the situation would be a thorough discussion of the relation to reality of the hypotheses resulting from the established economic models. This includes also relativation of the results specific to the used methods. Both approaches towards a new and stronger perception of the present economic knowledge in politics demand however a new orientation in teaching and research.
