Conflictos políticos y administrativos en el sector agrario durante el primer franquismo: E1 caso de Cuenca

Abstract

The author uses the research into the work of the bureaucrats and politicians in charge of the agrarian sector in Cuenca during the early part of Franco’s regime to show the diversity of ideological and economic interests within Franco’s political and bureaucratic system. When local economic interests did not coincide with the global politics of the regime, critics could be seen to emerge within this system against both the general line of the economic policy and its different aspects. The author uses his findings to question the interpretation of the Franco’s bureaucratic and political system based on the concept of "The Service Class" and argues for the need to include regional differences in the analysis.
