Patrones De Distribución Territorial De La Población Extranjera En Galicia, 1997-2017

Abstract

Los movimientos poblacionales han sido decisivos en la historia y el desarrollo socioeconómico de Galicia. La distribución espacial de la población extranjera en un territorio disperso, donde predomina el carácter fragmentado de la propiedad de la tierra, puede ser determinante tanto para un entorno urbano que tiende a concentrar a este grupo poblacional como en los espacios fronterizos y costeros donde tienen una mayor representación relativa. Santiago de Compostela, como único municipio con más de 50.000 habitantes con crecimiento positivo de la población -durante los periodos evaluados-, representa un interesante caso de estudio sobre un fenómeno eminentemente urbano.
