Abstract

Прямые индикаторы качества рабочей силы по результатам международных тестов по математике и естественным наукам тесно связаны с экономическим ростом. Результаты тестов, рассчитанные с помощью косвенной спецификации, указывают на следующие причинно-следственные связи: прямые расходы на школы не связаны с различиями в результатах учащихся; влияние качества рабочей силы на темп экономического роста сохраняется, даже если исключить страны Юго-Восточной Азии; и, наконец, различия в доходах американских иммигрантов напрямую связаны с качеством образования, полученным ими в стране происхождения. В то же время последние оценки влияния качества рабочей силы на производительность на микроуровне порождают неопределенность относительно масштаба его воздействия на экономический рост.
