Abstract

Virtually no studies on the assessment of the cost of property have been published by Russian economists, while this assessment is recommended for ensuring the performance of obligations under a credit agreement. The author of the article has tried to present a definition of hypothecary value as well as to provide the basic guidelines for its assessment in the context of contemporary situation in Russia.
