Economic perspectives of resource synergy in industrial centers

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to highlight the potential for regional resource synergies to improve the eco-efficiency performance in heavy industrial areas. Current research includes the observation and comparison of two industrial centres: Berezniki, Permskiy krai, Russia and Gladstone, Queensland, Australia. Outcomes and learning from this research will help understand the common elements and differences for regional synergy development in the two countries.
