Abstract

В статье прослеживается органическая связь между аграрным способом производства, не изменившимся существенно с момента возникновения Древнерусского государства, и теми новыми социальными группами и властными органами, которые появляются в XIV-XVвеках. Социальная иерархия русского общества в рассматриваемый период представляется как система перераспределения получаемого крестьянством и посадским населением прибавочного продукта в пользу служилого населения, служба которого, в свою очередь, позволяла обеспечить функционирование указанной системы, защищая ее как от внутренних центробежных сил, так и от внешних вмешательств.
