Abstract

Процесс «перестройки», начавшийся в СССР в 80-е годы обнажил многие политические, правовые, экономические, а также этнические проблемы. Государственно-правовые реалии в Грузии конца 80-х начала 90-х гг. (отказ Грузинской ССР от участия во всесоюзной референдуме 17 марта 1991 г. и проведение вместо него 31 марта 1991 г. референдума о восстановлении государственной независимости Грузии) повлекли за собой события, положившие начало возрождению государственной независимости Абхазии. В новых политико-правовых условиях был поставлен вопрос о восстановлении, существовавшего до 1931 г. союзного статуса республики, утраченного ей в результате ее включения в состав Грузинской ССР на правах автономии.
