Abstract

Царское правительство широко использовало православие для расширения своего влияния на нехристианизированное население Российской Империи. Основной причиной этого стала острая необходимость сохранить целостность государства и интегрировать недавно приобретенные территории в состав Российской Империи. Миссионерская деятельность проводилась под надзором государства и являлась частью национальной политики. Территория Туркестана не стала исключением в этом процессе.
