Abstract

Эльтонские соляные промыслы второй половины XVIII первой четверти XIX вв. имели важное экономическое значение для России. Во многом успех соляного промысла зависел от чумаков Слободской Украины, переселившихся в Нижнее Поволжье и выделенных государством в особую категорию крестьян казенных солевозчиков. В статье рассмотрены различные меры экономического стимулирования казенных солевозчиков к увеличению объемов вывозимой с озера соли, успехи и неудачи соляной транспортировки.
