Abstract

Возможности и перспективы России в Азиатско-Тихоокеанском регионе в ХХІ в. будут во многом зависеть от взаимоотношений с мировым и региональным лидером Соединенными Штатами Америки. Преодоление периферийной позиции России в Пасифике предполагает ее активное экономическое и политическое сотрудничество со странами региона. Современная внешняя политика Соединенных Штатов целенаправленно сориентирована на Азиатско-Тихоокеанский регион. Цель тихоокеанской политики Вашингтона сохранение мирового доминирования Америки в условиях растущего влияния Китая. На практике Соединенные Штаты зачастую не воспринимают Россию в качестве составной части АТР и не включают ее в свою тихоокеанскую политику. Однако, по мнению некоторых американских экспертов, Соединенным Штатам необходима поддержка России, чтобы оказывать сдерживающее влияние на Китай. В свою очередь, Россия нацелена, прежде всего, на сотрудничество с Китаем.
