Abstract

В статье исследуется распространение, география расселения, характер быта и занятий старообрядцев Новгородской губернии 1850-х гг. Основным источником сведений стали архивные материалы об экспедиции Ю.К. Арсеньева по заданию МВД. Материалы показали широкое распространение деревень и моленных староверов, их относительно большее трудолюбие и зажиточность, тесные связи с центрами в Москве и Петербурге.
