Abstract

The paper analyzes the classical General Indices Method (GIM), which was developed by A.N. Krylov for battleships' estimation. Three areas of economics, which are treated as areas of GIM's applications, that is the method of estimation of goods and services quality, the theory of economic goods use value measurement and the utility functions theory, are examined. The Randomized General Indices Method (RGIM), which is a modification of the General Indices Method (GIM) in the case of the shortage of numerical information, is outlined and some examples of its application for different socio-economical and ecological objects' estimation under uncertainty are presented.
