Идеалистические Традиции В Развитии Экономической Мысли И Современное Состояние Экономической Науки: Постановка Проблемы

This article considers the hypothesis that economic laws ontologically exist and that they can be discovered not only by inductive but also by deductive scientific methods. It is held that the ideas of Plato are still useful for the understanding of truth, in general, and of economic laws, in particular. Moreover, this understanding has the potential to allow economics to progress as a science. The author points to the example of the evolution of the economics from the neoclassic school to institutionalism. One of the contributions of the former was a new marginal theory of utility, while the latter contributed to our knowledge of game theory. Game theory has expanded the scope of marginal analysis by allowing for a more complete picture of the behavior of the human beings in society. In this context, the neoclassic homo economicus may obtain more benefits when he cooperates with his fellow economic agents as opposed to when he acts selfishly.
