Abstract

The paper aims to review the main positive results of FDI investigation in the framework of the modern international trade theory. There are analyzed different approaches to describing the specific features of FDI in the trade models, main factors influencing the relative efficiency of FDI comparing to export activities as well. The author comes to the conclusion, that multinational companies will be more efficient comparing to the national firms if the countries' comparative advantages are not relevant, and if the gap between countries in technology, size and resources is decreasing.
