. The problem of receipt of adequate definition of seasonal vibrations is described. It is indicated on the necessity of acquaintance of students with more wide look to composition of trend and seasonal component. Pointlessness of illumination is reasonable in educational statistical literature of methods of calculation of middle indexes of seasonality, that envisage the previous analytical smoothing or mechanical smoothing of intra-speaker, and also Persons’ method. Охарактеризовано проблему отримання адекватної дефініції сезонних коливань. Указано на необхідність ознайомлення студентів з більш широким поглядом на композицію тренду й сезонного компонента. Обґрунтовано недоцільність висвітлення в навчальній статистичній літературі способів обчислення середніх показників сезонності, що передбачають попереднє аналітичне вирівнювання або механічне згладжування внутрішньорічної динаміки, а також методу Персонса.
