Linking Technology Strategy with Human Resource Management for Small Firms

Abstract

This article explores the effects of new technology introduction through detailed case studies of two bottle production units in Taiwan. Based on the insights from these, it develops a few propositions to establish the links between an effective technology strategy and business structure/environment, human resource man agement and technology providers. The article suggests that in order for small firms to survive in a highly competitive market, they must look inwards and integrate the available physical and human resources with the environment.
