Abstract

There is a general consensus that need for achievement is a significant factor in entrepreneurial success. However, there is no agreement about how to assess entrepreneurial success. Contending that the health of a firm is reflected in its financial performance, the authors of this paper have used financial ratios to construct an entrepreneurial success index scale, and applied it to determine the relationship between the business success and achievement motivation of a group of entrepreneurs in one of the states in India.
