The Agonizing Entrance of Mexico into the 21st Century

Abstract

The entrance of Mexico into the 21 st century started with a shout of victory from the first opposition party election in almost 85 years. However, the future seems quite gloomy at this time, since the legacy from the past remains at all aspects of Mexican society. The new administration looks not very different from its predecessors not only in terms of ruling style but also in policy options that they choose. This article focuses on verifying the possibility of change with the entrance of the new government, and analyzes the existing conditions and restraints that face the Fox administration.
