Abstract

With the proliferation of mass communication in the country, the employment of women in the media has increased. Studies hitherto have focused on women in the print media. This study relates to the working conditions of women employed in newspapers, TV channels and radio stations in Andhra Pradesh. Although there is no major gender bias in this sector, job insecurity and non-implementation of specific provisions for women and of wage board rules are issues that need attention.
