Earth's Temperature / Co2 Equilibrium Prior to 1850

Abstract

The observed relationship between Earth's temperature and CO 2 concentration in the atmosphere during glacial and interglacial periods from 420,000 years ago up to 1850 has still not been satisfactorily explained. It is proven that CO 2 movements lag temperature, but why did the concentration move up and down in a regular pattern? No universally accepted conclusion exists that can be reliably used for modelling “what if†scenarios.
