D’un monde à l’autre ou les rhétoriques de l’exemple dans les manuels de microéconomie
[From One World to Another or the Rhetorics of Examples in Microeconomics Textbooks]

Abstract

En France, depuis plus de 15 ans, certains étudiants des cursus d’économie exhortent leurs enseignants à « sortir des mondes imaginaires ». Ce travail se saisit de cette exhortation comme d’une invitation à nous demander de quel(s) monde(s) nous parlons aux étudiants. Dans cette perspective, il propose une typologie des mondes décrits par les exemples des manuels de microéconomie. Quatre types sont plus précisément distingués : les mondes réels, abstraits, imaginaires et impossibles. On montre alors que ces derniers, en raison non seulement de leurs caractéristiques, mais également des rhétoriques dans lesquelles ils prennent place, posent des problèmes pédagogiques que seule une sérieuse discussion sur l’objet et la méthode pourrait éventuellement dissiper.
