Case Study on Reducing Lower Limb Asymmetry through Psycho-Neuro-Motor Control Training

Abstract

This case study is based on observations made during psycho-neuro-motor control training sessions conducted with junior performance basketball players using the C.S.N. simulator. The training aimed to develop control over specific movements related to vertical jumping and enhance the quality of these movements. Interestingly, although it was not initially part of the training objectives, the observations revealed that the symmetry between the two lower limbs improved following the psycho-neuro-motor control training sessions. The case study presents the results obtained in terms of symmetry and asymmetry from a junior performance basketball player after completing a vertical jump development program on the N.S.C. simulator. These findings provide insights into the potential for reducing control asymmetries and, consequently, improving performance in a sport that requires the use of both limbs depending on the context.
