The Risk Concept In The Healthcare Sector And Its Implications For The Contracting Of Medical Services

Abstract

The study starts from the identifying of specific “risk concepts in the healthcare field and how it is directly or indirectly influencing the contracting of medical services. It also explains the relationship between the general health risks and the normative acts in force, as well as the implications of these risks in the field of contracting medical services and also in the field of some national preventive and curative health programs. The study of these “risk concepts is continued with the analysis of the most recent legislative changes, the reasons behind these changes, their meaning and their implications at the beginning of the contracting process and also during the development of the contracts. One of the conclusions of this measure is that, apart from the influences on the legislation, the risks selected from the public health or medical field may lead to other types of risks (legislative, financial, technological etc.) during the contracting of medical services.
