The article is devoted to the study of one of the modern tools for solving social and economic problems in a crisis – public-private partnership (PPP). In this work, the author provides his own understanding of the essence of partnership between government and business. It is concluded that the implementation of joint projects should, mainly, ensure the development of socially significant infrastructure. The author focuses on the problems of cooperation between the public and private sectors. The work assesses the damage to the market of PPP-projects from the global pandemic. The article shows the contradictions in the expectations of the parties from their relationship on the principles of public-private partnership. Obviously, the correlation of the interests of public authorities and private business structures is the key to the success of their joint work. According to the author, the issue of professionalism of a public partner in the field of PPP is especially acute. Possible ways of improving the mechanisms for implementing PPP-projects in modern conditions are considered.
