Abstract

The article analyzes the consequences of Emperor Nicholas II's decision to become the Supreme commander of the Russian army in the summer of 1915. The long stay of the king in the Rate led to partial disorganization of the country's management system, created the preconditions for a weak understanding of the processes taking place in the society by the head of state. Ths resulted in inadequate and belated actions of the Emperor on the eve and in the days of the February revolution, which naturally led to the collapse of the monarchy.
