Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the research is to systematize the main philosophical approaches to strategic concepts of preserving and strengthening peace on the planet. To achieve this purpose, the results of theoretical studies of war and peace undertaken by national and foreign scientists are summarized. Methods. When writing the study, methods of social-philosophical, historical-logical and political anal-ysis were applied, as well as a comparative approach. Results. The article proposes six basic principles that can become the basis of the political philosophy of the new international legal reality: 1) developing the foundations of a holistic world order for build-ing universal peace and strengthening individual and social security; 2) protecting people and their basic rights, including meeting basic vital needs; 3) observing the principle of reciprocity in interper-sonal communication of people and in international legal relations; 4) the principle of justice in inter-personal and international relations, which in itself does not mean equality of results, but implies rea-sonable equality of opportunities; 5) the rule of law in international relations, as well as in underde-veloped national communities; 6) strengthening of democratic governance in countries that recognize democracy as a phenomenon of Western European civilization. Scientific novelty. The modern world community needs a strategy to overcome the existential fears of people and societies about their own security. This strategy should be based on the goal of ensuring human security, strengthening reciprocity in international relations and institutions, ensuring greater political and economic justice, and strengthening international law and humanistic values and institu-tions. Such a strategy could help create a more inclusive human identity and create a system of gov-ernance that can ensure the maintenance of peace through the promotion of justice and human rights, economic well-being and environmental security for all.
