The purpose of the article is to identify and analyse the factors influencing the formation of market capitalization of the leading oil companies in Russia. The methodology of the research is based on a system approach using the methods of the analysis and synthesis, combination of logical and historical functioning and developments, induction and deduction. The main approach is a correlation and regression analysis, which is based on annual reporting data in their relationship with the market capitalization of the studied companies. The practical importance of the article is that the results can serve as a basis for the development of the forecast of the market capitalization of oil companies of the Russian Federation under the impact of industry factors. Scientific novelty. The authors revealed significant influence of industrial factors on the formation of the market capitalization of the leading oil companies of the Russian Federation. The authors substantiate the importance of the fuel and energy complex for the economy of the Russian Federation and analyze the volume of production of resources, as well as the capitalization of oil companies. The conclusion is made about the importance of the method of correlation and regression analysis and the constructed model for forecasting the development of the oil sector.
