Abstract

Introduction. Introducing the Industry 4.0 concept can increase productivity and economic growth in Turkey and also promote the development of SMEs, an essential component of the country’s economy. The article aims to study the impact of Industry 4.0 on industrial modernization in Turkey. Materials and Methods. The materials were publications in scientific journals dealing with Industry 4.0, and literature on modern technology. Methods: analyzing statistical data on the state of the industrial sector in Turkey, the level of technology adoption, and its impact on productivity. Results. The sectors of the national economy of interest for Turkey are identified: the energy sector, which plays a crucial role in stability and in providing the necessary level of high production capacity; the automotive industry; development of digital economy, of information technology and telecommunications; and the aerospace industry. Conclusion. The prospects for implementing the Industry 4.0 concept in modernizing Turkey’s industrial sector are up-and-coming. However, to successfully realize these, Turkey must overcome several challenges such as lack of investment in technology, training, and infrastructure development.
