Abstract

La finalidad del presente estudio es determinar la influencia del cambio climático en la producción agrícola de la provincia de Loja en el periodo de 2007- 2020. Para esto se utilizaron los datos del valor agregado bruto del sector agrícola y datos de temperatura y precipitación, provenientes de fuentes secundarias como del Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE) y del instituto Nacional de Meteorología e Hidrología (INAMHI), en donde se empleó una función de producción a través del uso de datos de panel y efectuando modelos de efectos fijos y aleatorios. Se concluye que el cambio climático si influye en la producción agrícola, dado que la temperatura como la precipitación son favorables hasta alcanzar un nivel óptimo de resistencia de la producción, al sobrepasar dicho nivel trae efectos negativos en la producción agrícola.
