Comment Les Institutions Legales Influencent L’Efficience Des Banques Islamiques

Abstract

Nous étudions le rôle de la qualité des institutions sur l’efficience de coût des banques islamiques et conventionnelles. Nous mesurons l’efficience de coût des banques sur un grand échantillon de banques de 17 pays où des banques islamiques existent. Nous montrons que les banques islamiques ont une efficience de coût plus réduite que les banques conventionnelles, qui peut contribuer à limiter leur expansion, comme des coûts plus importants sont associés à des prix plus élevés. Cependant une qualité accrue des institutions réduit l’écart d’efficience entre banques islamiques et banques conventionnelles. Ainsi la conclusion principale de l’étude est qu’une amélioration de la qualité des institutions peut favoriser l’expansion des banques islamiques.
