Abstract

L’émergence de la finance islamique et la place qu’elle occupe au plan international rendent légitime la question de son rôle en tant que véritable intermédiation financière génératrice de croissance. Dans notre étude, nous avons examiné l'implication de la finance islamique en tant que moteur de la croissance. Sur la base d’un échantillon composé de 15 pays, observés sur cinq sous périodes quadriennales successives de l'année 1990 jusqu'à l'année 2009, nous avons estimé le modèle de panel dynamique selon l’approche Arellano et Bover (1995) / Blundell et Bond (1998). Les résultats ne permettent pas de valider, pour le moment, l’hypothèse selon laquelle la pratique actuelle de la finance islamique constitue le moteur de la croissance au sens de Schumpeter. Cet effet est limité. Il peut être une conséquence de la faible maturité du système financier islamique.
