Una enseñanza no tóxica de la economía

Abstract

La economía mundial está en un proceso de crisis creciente. Hay múltiples evidencias que demuestran que las teorías y las prácticas económicas no responden a la realidad. Lo curioso es que a pesar de esas evidencias los esfuerzos por aplicar teorías y enfoques alternativos más coherentes, son nulos o al menos mínimos. La economía que se enseña, especialmente la introductoria, es la neoclásica, hoy en su versión más extrema de neoliberalismo. Crecimiento económico, libre mercado y globalización es la trinidad sobre la que se sustenta el sistema. En esencia se trata de una visión mecánica del mundo, tal como lo entiende la física clásica. Sin embargo, hay movimientos y esfuerzos, tanto a nivel de estudiantes europeos de postgrado como de profesores críticos, para reorientar la enseñanza de la economía. De lo que se trata en última instancia es de entender que el mundo no es mecánico, sino orgánico.
