Self-organization in Economics. Introduction

Abstract

Self-organization can be defined in many ways. Briefly, we can say that a selforganizing system is a system whose basic structure changes relatively to experience without explicit constraints from environment. Form constraints result from the interactions between the components of the system. For example, according to Paul Cilliers: The capacity for self-organization is a property of complex systems which enables them to develop or change interval structure spontaneously and adaptively in order to cope with or manipulate, their environment (1998).
