The mission statement describes the overall purpose of an organization and the vision statement describes the attractive image toward which it wants to arrive. Organizations take attention to some traits in their mission and vision statements, such as, innovation, leadership, competitiveness, risk taking, creativity, quality, flexibility, reliability, learning and etc. Most of these traits are of significiant impact on the successful future of the organizations. In this study, the mission and vision statements are thought as a mirror reflecting entrepreneurial capability of an organization. The aim of this study is to evaluate the entrepreneurial characteristics of leading organizations in Turkey by the help of their mission and vision statements. In order to achieve this aim, entrepreneurial characteristics of organizations have been determined as meaningful factors through the literature at first. Then, the mission and vision statements of each organization in Turkey’s Top 100 Industrial Enterprises List are examined according to these factors. As a result of this assessment, it can be seen that, some of the organizations exhibit a great performance on entrepreneurial characteristics while others haven’t got the same performance.
