Abstract

The most striking form of industrialization within Third World in the 70's, the "peripheral fordism", went into crisis in the 80's. Beyond inner factors, monetarist and recessive policies led in major industrial countries did play a determining role in this crisis, which in turn could have triggered a world financial crisis. In front of this risk, monetarism had to retreat in USA after the Summer 1982, but injuries to world economy remain to be repaired.
