Educacion para el desarrollo sostenible(Education for sustainable development)

Abstract

El objetivo es mostrar la enorme relevancia que tiene y puede tener la educacion para formar a estudiantes, profesores, investigadores, administradores y directivos, con respecto a la grave situacion que enfrenta nuestro planeta y a las posibles soluciones que pueden plantearse para enfrentar esta problematica mundial. Se llevo a cabo una busqueda de documentos internacionales sobre la Educacion para el Desarrollo Sostenible, por un lado, de la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas para la Educacion, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) y de la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), y por el otro de algunos trabajos recientes sobre los complejos vinculos que se producen entre la educacion y el desarrollo sostenible. Con respecto a las publicaciones, los documentos internacionales sobre este campo son dominantes y tienen un caracter positivo, y por otro lado se pudieron localizar algunos trabajos que juzgan que las propuestas pueden tener aspectos negativos o incompletos y que por ello plantean otras miradas que van mas alla de los Objetivos del Desarrollo Sustentable. El articulo busca contribuir al conocimiento y a la reflexion de las condiciones que han dado lugar al calentamiento del planeta y a la destruccion del habitat, a los diversos recursos que se han creado para revertir esos procesos, y principalmente a generar conciencia a traves de la educacion para el desarrollo sostenible.
